Colorado Fireworks Tournament Specifics
2010 Guidelines: Dates for the 2010 CO Fireworks will be (Wed.) June 30 through (Sun.) July 4, 2010. Once again at least 50% of roster must be 2010 or 2011 grads (for 18 under teams) and 2012 or 2013 grads (for 16 under teams) in order to be eligible to particiapte in the Fireworks. NO player that has attended a 4 year college is eligible to play in the senior (18-under) division of the tournament. Practice games will be offered June 27 (Sun.) through (Tues.) June 29 for 16-under teams and 18-under teams. Mandatory Coaches Meeting and Team Check-In will be on Monday, June 28th and Players Party will be Tuesday, June 29th. NFCA exposure camps will be held Tuesday, June 29th from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
2010 Entry Fee: $880 for 16-under & 18-under teams. Make checks payable to 4th of July Colorado Fireworks LLC. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. Mail your entry fee via regular US Mail (sending payment via registered mail will cause a significant delay in us receiving your entry and processing it, possibly jeopardizing your entry). All checks are processed through the bank upon receipt. No refund will be returned if your team cancels after being accepted in the tournament, but a full refund if canceled from the waiting list. If you were a 2009 HS grad & enrolled in a 4 year college you will not be allowed to participate in this tournament (except JC players) in the senior (18 under) division. ROSTERS ARE LIMITED TO 18 PLAYERS. Teams are not allowed to play up (senior teams must have a roster of at least 50% of 2010 or 2011 HS grads. and junior teams must have 50% of rostered players that are 2012 or 2013 HS grads.).
2010 Guarantee: 6 games. Additional games (for 16-under & 18-under teams) may be played in the form of practice games Sun, Mon, and Tues prior to the tournament. Teams will play 7 innings or 1:45 time limit in tourney games. Pool games are 1 hour and 30 minutes and games can end in ties.
2010 Site: All (23) fields are located in Aurora, Colorado. 19 of these 23 fields have lights. Aurora is designated by Sports Illustrated as the #1 sports town in Colorado.
2010 Housing: Area hotel rooms range from $69 to $140 per night, with the average cost per person around $20. Contact Triple Crown Sports to help find the right rooms and the right price for your team. 2010 Pairings: Pool play will match strength against strength.
2010 Practice Games: Available June 27 (Sunday), June 28 (Monday), & June 29th (Tuesday). Practice games will cost $70 plus teams provide playable balls for each game. A request form for practice games is now on the web site (for teams to print and return with check by mail) and WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FEBRUARY 1, 2010.
TEAM CHECK-IN for 2010: , Monday, June 28th from 8:00am-4:30pm (Aurora Sports Park "B" Complex), all teams must be checked in by the 4:30pm deadline . Coach or Team Rep please bring paperwork required. Players not required to check in individually.
MANDATORY COACHES MEETING for 2010 Monday, June 28th at 5:30pm. Location TBA. The mandatory coaches meeting is not intended to inconvenience anyone. While the coaches meeting is independent of the team check-in, it is intended to provide a venue in which important information may be passed without the distraction of check-in activities.
2010 Awards: Top 4 teams in the Senior Division and top 3 teams in the Junior receive team trophies, the players ( 18 maximum) of top 2 teams in each division receive individual awards. Pool winners will receive a team plaque.
2010 Refunds: For teams requesting a refund, please send us by regular US mail, a note with the following information: team name, age group, coaches name, where the check should be sent, and to whom the check should be made out to (if there is any disagreement or we have any problem verifying who sent the check and who should receive the refund, we will send the refund to the address on the check payable to the name on the check). Send this information in writing by regular US mail to Elliott Finkelstein at Triple Crown Sports 3930 Automation Way Fort Collins Co 80525. Approximate time to process the request is four to eight weeks after receipt of your request. Refunds are checked and double checked for all information, team name, coach, cleared funds, etc., and then the services of a CPA are used. Please be patient as due to the number of entry fees received and depending on the number of issues involved in trying to make sure the refunds are accurate, the process may be slower than you like.
Park Rules and Regulations: Parking is allowed on the asphalt surfaces ONLY. Parking spaces within asphalt surfaces are clearly delineated with white painted lines. Parking on turf or native grass areas, shoulders of park roads, or within road travel lanes, safety or fire lanes is NOT permitted. Play or practice is prohibited when there is frost on the grass both within and adjacent to marked fields. Carts for set-up and delivery are also prohibited from crossing grass areas when there is frost present. Entrance gates will remain closed during frost delays. No glass containers or alcohol are allowed with the Sports Park. No bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards or scooters are allowed within the complexes or around buildings. Dogs are not permitted within fenced complexes or on sports fields. Dogs in other areas of the park must be on leashes no longer than ten (10) feet in length. Practice is restricted to defined practice areas. Practicing on playing surfaces, adjoining fields or fields being used for other events is prohibited. Hitting or tossing against fences is not permitted. Overnight camping is not permitted. Large recreational vehicles and/or trailers must use designated spaces on the loop road at the east end of the park. Large vehicles are not permitted to park across (using more than one) parking spaces or to park in a “pull through” configuration. THERE ARE NO GATE FEES! |
